95% of Americans Aren’t Getting Enough Fiber. Here’s How to Fix It Simply

Hi, I’m Nathalie, the founder of Hapüs Wellness.

There’s one thing I wish more people understood about feeling better, having more energy, and supporting their gut…

Most of us are simply not getting enough fiber.

In fact, around 95% of Americans fall short of their daily fiber needs.

Not because they don’t care.

But because it’s not always easy.

Why Fiber Matters More Than You Think

Fiber supports so much more than digestion.

It plays a role in:

how full you feel after meals

your energy throughout the day

support your gut bacteria

helping your body feel more balanced overall

It’s one of the simplest things you can focus on that can make a real difference in how you feel.

So Why Is It So Hard to Get Enough?

Life gets busy.

Food becomes about convenience.

And most convenient foods are low in fiber.

Even when you’re trying to eat well, it’s still easy to fall short.

I went through this myself, and I realized I wasn’t alone.

The Shift That Changes Everything

Instead of overcomplicating things, I focused on one simple idea:

👉 Add more fiber, don’t overthink it.

Not perfection. Not restriction. Just adding.

And even more importantly… variety.

Because it’s not just about fiber.

It’s about different types of fiber from different plants.

Simple Ways to Add More Fiber (Without Overthinking)

You don’t need to change everything overnight. Just start adding where you can:

Leave the skin on when possible

Apples, pears, kiwis, plums, and peaches all contain extra fiber in the skin. Just make sure they’re washed well.

Upgrade what you already eat

Add lentils to your bolognese or soups. Mix beans into your salads, or toss extra vegetables like zucchini or spinach into sauces. Small additions like these can go a long way.

Top your meals

A spoon of chia seeds or flaxseeds on yogurt or smoothies is an easy win.

Add crunch and variety

Nuts and seeds bring both texture and different types of fiber. Sprinkle them on anything from salads to breakfast bowls.

Make your breakfast work for you

Something as simple as adding a handful of berries and a fiber-rich granola, like Hapüs, can completely change the nutritional value of your bowl.

Keep it simple and enjoyable

If it feels complicated, you won’t stick to it. Choose foods you actually like and build from there.

You don’t need to change everything overnight.

Just start adding more fiber to your day, little by little.

Take every opportunity, and start noticing the difference. Better digestion, more energy, and feeling more balanced overall.
